National Farmer Crisis Line Launches to Support Canadian Farmers
FARMERS DESERVE SUPPORT THAT UNDERSTANDS THEM
Farming is more than a job—it’s a way of life. But with the weight of unpredictable markets, rising costs, and the emotional toll of running a farm, stress can feel overwhelming. You are the backbone of Canadian agriculture, and while you work hard to keep your farm running, we’re here to support you.
INTRODUCING THE NATIONAL FARMER CRISIS LINE
For too long, farmers have faced barriers to accessing the mental health support they need—cost, stigma, and a lack of professionals who truly understand agriculture. That changes now. The Canadian Centre for Agricultural Wellbeing (CCAW), in partnership with Farm Credit Canada (FCC), is proud to announce the launch of the National Farmer Wellness Network (NFWN) Crisis Line:
📞 1-866-FARMS01 (1-866-327-6701) | Free, Confidential, 24/7
Through the National Farmer Wellness Network (NFWN), we’re ensuring that farmers, farm workers, and their families have access to agriculture-literate crisis support—anytime, anywhere.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Farming is one of the most stressful occupations. Research shows that 76% of farmers report experiencing moderate to high stress, and 45% say stigma prevents them from seeking help. Agriculture-specific mental health support was missing. Until now, farmers had limited access to professionals trained to understand the unique pressures of farm life.
We’re breaking down barriers. The National Farmer Crisis Line is free, confidential, and staffed by trained mental health professionals who get what it means to be a farmer.
HOW IT WORKS
1.Call 1-866-FARMS01 anytime — day or night, no problem is too big or too small. Connect with a trained professional — licensed crisis workers who understand farm stress.
2.Get the support you need — whether it’s immediate help, coping strategies, or just
someone who understands.
3.OUR COMMITMENT TO FARMERS
We are proud to partner with Farm Credit Canada and TELUS Health to build a national network of trusted, agriculturally trained crisis workers. This initiative ensures that farmers get the high-quality, farm-informed care they deserve.
